    I am BZL from Cameroon.  I got to know about the Women Empowerment Network from the very awesome Kathleen Harris at the BLACK HISTORY MONTH Celebration in Leicester. What marvelled me about  Kathleen was her confidence and the  warmth in her voice while she encouraged me on  how to handle my little business. I was a stranger  yet she mentored me  instantly with  so much love.  Thank you. She had this reassuring smile that told me I was at the right place. What an amazing woman! After listening  to her presentation, I realised my/ our lives  will be a lot better  if we can love ourselves, give those in need extra hands,  mentor those who need mentoring and above all never give up on ourselves or on others.   • So Glad I walked Passed WEN in Haymarket

    Meeting Kathleen at the WEN centre has been such a blessing!.  Kathleen is a beautiful, warm and welcoming soul.  I happened to be walking past the WEN centre and she so kindly approached me, and offered a warm winter pack, her bubbly and welcoming character made me feel comfortable to go in and have a chat.  Firstly the winter packs are fantastic, I was very appreciative for my hot water bottle and everything else in the pack.  I decided to leave my details and join the WhatsApp group where Kat posts jobs and opportunities and even grant applications.  The fact that the centre has a little play area for kids is also a big big bonus, as my 3yr old was kept happily occupied whilst I had a chat and learnt about WEN and what they do to Empower people in and around the community. 

    WEN have a fantastic team of people working together, everyone is friendly and cheerful.  I have been lucky enough to receive some great help and advice in business through the WEN centre as well as connect and exchange details with other entrepreneurs.

    As a single mom on benefits I am so happy for the opportunity to sit down with a member of the WEN team and get some professional business advice.  A business idea that was sat in a box for nearly a year, I have felt pushed and encouraged to get back into.  It can be really hard doing these things alone with little to no support.  So now, knowing that support, is just a message, phone call or a visit to the WEN centre away feels really good. 

    Seeing the accomplishments of WEN is amazing!  I am in awe of Kathleen and the team and everything they do.  I am so happy I happened to be walking past the WEN centre on that random Wednesday!  I know they have more to offer and I just need to stay connected and engage with opportunities that are posted in the group chat and/or website.
